Guardians of the valley. How to describe? This is a specific place, but at the same time this is my impression of it. This is a reserve on the Golan Heights, El Al river. Last spring we walked there on a cloudy day. A gorge, a waterfall, overhanging clouds overflowing with water, the wind knocking down the stream of the waterfall turning it into a rainbow cloud. The trees bend, the grass slopes, and only the thistle stands huge and majestic, as if supporting the sky itself. A real guard… He carries out his service silently, looking with dignity at the beauty of the valley. Sharp thorns, lilac hats, powerful trunks. It would seem that these are flowers, and the sizes are impressive. A little more, and any of the flying clouds will catch on to the sharp spike of the flower and will shed heavy rain.
