From the series: Lace of the Universe
“Masquerade — Carmen” is a whirl of passion, mystery, and the magic of night. The artwork radiates with intensity, glowing in golden and amber tones against the depth of a black canvas. Half a mask, half a rose — both symbols melt into one emotion: is it seduction or secrecy?
The black background amplifies the drama, while the lace patterns seem to shimmer, entwining with the petals and evolving into fantastic motifs. These lines are like music — each one part of a fiery, flirtatious dance.
This piece stands in contrast to “Masquerade — Pink,” where morning light, softness, and stillness take center stage. If "Pink" is the quiet breath after the celebration, then “Carmen” is the celebration itself — the moment of mystery, of veiled faces and heightened senses.
These two paintings share a common theme, yet reflect opposite moods. They are two halves of my soul. My intention is for the viewer to follow the thread of lace, gradually unraveling the story, emotion, and secrets hidden within each detail.
